About Cartoon Personality Test

Cartoon Personality Test is a small, independent fan site that makes free personality quizzes about animated TV characters. The first one asks: which South Park character are you?

Who makes it

The site is run by one fan of animated TV. We're not a studio, a network or a licensed partner, and we don't have inside information about any show. Everything here is written from the point of view of a viewer.

How the quiz was designed

The South Park personality test has 14 questions with 4 answers each. Every answer moves two or three of the Big Five personality traits: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. Each trait is balanced inside every question, so random answers average out to the middle of the scale.

16 of the 56 answers reuse or paraphrase items from the public-domain International Personality Item Pool (IPIP, ipip.ori.org). How each answer moves your scores was set by us, so IPIP's own validation does not carry over to this quiz. The questions, the other answers and all result texts were written for this site.

We gave each of the 10 characters a 0–100 profile on the five traits. These profiles are our reading of widely known personality traits, not official data and not a psychological assessment. Your result is the character whose profile is closest to your five scores.

Before launch we ran 10,000 simulated quizzes with random answers. Every character came up between 8.3% and 12.6% of the time, so the scoring itself doesn't favor anyone. Real people don't answer at random, so real results will be less even.

We don't use official art, screenshots, GIFs, logos, the show's fonts or fan drawings of characters. Results and share images are text, colors and initials only, and we don't quote lines from the show.
